Liverpool’s transfer business this summer has already turned heads. Florian Wirtz arrived in a deal that not only broke club records but also reshaped expectations of what this era under Arne Slot might look like. The €100 million deal for the German playmaker was as audacious as it was effective, and now it seems the Reds are not finished.

According to Anfield Watch, Liverpool are exploring the possibility of bringing in Rodrygo from Real Madrid. With question marks over the futures of both Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez, the club are preparing for major changes in the attacking third.

Rodrygo, 23, is one of the most technically gifted forwards of his generation. His ability to play across the front line and his Champions League pedigree make him an appealing fit for a squad aiming to evolve rather than rebuild. And crucially, there is space to do so.
The report suggests that Liverpool would prefer to keep Diaz, but growing interest from Barcelona and Bayern Munich could shift the balance. While the Colombian is not officially on the market, it appears he is open to a change of scenery.

If that move materialises, Rodrygo becomes a logical replacement. Real Madrid, now flush with attacking options, may be open to letting the Brazilian leave.
Rodrygo barely featured at the FIFA Club World Cup and, per AS, he could now be offered to clubs across Europe.
Liverpool’s relative quietness in last summer’s market leaves them well-positioned to act decisively now. With one blockbuster deal already secured, the idea of a second is not out of the question.

Globo report that Rodrygo would cost around €100 million. That would again test the club’s financial discipline, but this is a team that has evolved its strategy to reflect modern market demands.
If Liverpool want to compete on every front, acquiring players of Rodrygo’s calibre is not a luxury. It is a requirement.
Wirtz alone felt like a dream. Add Rodrygo to that mix, and suddenly Liverpool’s attacking options look capable of terrifying any defence in Europe.
What excites most is how intentional the plan seems. This is not just throwing money around. It is about finding players with technical quality, high-level experience and positional versatility. Rodrygo ticks every box. He’s direct, intelligent in possession and knows how to perform under pressure.
With Diaz possibly heading out, the need for someone who can operate wide but also drift centrally becomes vital. Rodrygo has done it for Real Madrid in La Liga and the Champions League. Imagine what he could do in a red shirt at Anfield with the Kop behind him.
There is still plenty of work to be done and plenty of competition to beat. But Liverpool appear willing to act boldly. For supporters, that signals intent. That signals belief. And after the past year of transition and uncertainty, it is exactly what the fanbase needed.
