Barcelona may well return to financial stability in some sense this summer but it is clear that the Catalans must still be very careful on the fiscal front.
Free agent targets, thus, will continue to interest the club in the coming years as they offer the most value for money even with bonuses included.
Liverpool’s Mohammed Salah has been linked with Barcelona for similar reasons. The player undoubtedly possesses exceptional quality but his availability as a free agent next summer is one of the most tempting aspects of a potential transfer.
Salah has been in fiery form for the Merseyside giants this season and is one of the best in the world in his position.
This is why Liverpool refuse to give away the player easily and are determined to secure a renewal, albeit not at all costs.

As relayed by AS, Arne Slot’s side are contemplating two primary factors that may deter a potential deal, his age and his salary.
Already 32 years of age, there are doubts about how long the Egyptian star can keep his level up and whether a renewal makes sense. Financially, after all, it will be a massive investment with the player asking for £500,000 per week.
Barcelona are indeed interested in the player but his salary has come up as one of the big hurdles in his signing for they do not see it to be right to splash that sort of cash on Salah. After all, they are just returning to financial stability.
If indeed Liverpool decide against renewing his contract on improved terms, the player is likely to be heavily linked with a move to Catalonia. However, it does not make sense for Hansi Flick and Co. given that Lamine Yamal plays in the same position.
