Liverpool enquire to Eintracht Frankfurt over Hugo Ekitike | OneFootball

Liverpool have made contact with Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt over France U21 international Hugo Ekitike (23), according to a report from The Athletic’s David Ornstein. The Reds’ approach comes after Premier League rivals Newcastle United also made their interest known for the former Stade de Reims and PSG centre-forward.

Fabrizio Romano previously reported that Liverpool would turn their attention to Ekitike if they were unsuccessful in their bid to sign Newcastle United centre-forward Alexander Isak. The Reds have made clear they would be ready to broker a record-breaking deal around the £120m mark for Isak.

Eintracht Frankfurt previously turned down a €75m bid from Newcastle. After a failed stint with PSG, Ekitike has reinvented himself in the Bundesliga with 22 goals and 12 assists in 48 matches during the 2024-2025 season. The Frenchman started his career with Reims, where he scored 11 goals in 26 games during his breakout season with Les Champenois before his move to PSG.
