The agent of Alexander Isak has sent a blistering parting shot at Newcastle following the striker's £125million move to Liverpool.

Isak on Monday finally completed his long-desired move to the Premier League champions after a summer window saga which turned very sour.

From skipping Newcastle's pre-season tour to going on strike and then releasing a statement citing "broken" promises as the cause of his actions, Isak went from revered to reviled on Tyneside.

The discontent at Newcastle was made clear upon confirmation of Isak's departure, with the star striker - who scored the goal which won the club their first trophy in 70 years - getting a bland 37-word statement as a form of goodbye.

It remains to be seen if Isak will publicly address his move - at the time of writing, there has been no statement - but his agent, Vlado Lemic, has made clear his disatisfaction at Newcastle.

In a statement released to talkSPORT, Lemic wrote: "It's nice when you have someone to be with, but it's even nicer when you know who you will never be with again."

Isak, meanwhile, expressed "relief" at joining Liverpool after a "long journey to get here".

The striker said: “I feel amazing. It’s been a long journey to get here. But I’m super-happy to be a part of this team, this club and everything it stands for. It’s something I’m proud of and I’m really looking forward to it.

“It’s mixed emotions – some relief but a lot of pride, happiness. I’m just happy it’s done and that I can get back to work. I’m looking forward to seeing my teammates and the fans, and getting back out there."
