Despite the rather hectic schedule that FC Barcelona is having to deal with, the team remains ready for more challenges. Currently enjoying a fine run of form following the start to 2025, Hansi Flick’s men look completely ready for the games up ahead. Keeping that in mind, Barcelona will already be returning to La Liga action very shortly.
This time around, the Catalan giants will be facing off against 15th-placed Getafe. Always a frustrating opponent to play against, they never seem to let their opponents get too many opportunities at goal. As a result, dropping points is always a massive danger whenever Getafe is involved.
Moreover, considering Barça’s rather inconsistent form in La Liga, Hansi Flick can simply not afford to field a weak team and drop any more points. As such, a strong Barcelona lineup can be expected for this encounter.
Here is how Hansi Flick’s starting eleven could look like.
Expected Line-up:
Goalkeeper: Inaki Pena
Solid in the last game against Real Betis, even pulling off some superb saves in front of goal. He will likely be Flick’s pick for this game as Barça’s primary shot-stopper.
Right-back: Jules Kounde
Currently in the form of his life, the Frenchman has been sensation both defensively and offensively this season. Flick has not decided to bench him in important games before, and he likely will not be starting any time soon.
Centre-back: Ronald Araujo
The Uruguayan defender, now with an ease of mind about his future, will likely be one of the two starting centre-backs for Barcelona. With Inigo Martinez injured, moreover, his place in the starting eleven becomes a guarantee of sorts.
Centre-back: Pau Cubarsi
While Lamine Yamal continues to dazzle in attack, Pau Cubarsi remains just as extraordinary in the backline. His passing range, vision, composure, and defensive positioning are just some of the things that make him a mainstay for Hansi Flick.
Left-back: Alejandro Balde
While he may have been rested in the previous game against Betis, Balde showed his class against Real Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup final. Now, with plenty of rest, the Spaniard should be the coach’s pick to start this game.
CDM: Marc Casado
One of the most consistent performers this season for Barcelona, he seems to have made people forget just how desperately the team needed a new defensive midfielder before the season starter. Now, however, he has become the solution for a lot of problems.
CDM: Gavi
Gradually returning to full fitness, it now seems that Gavi is ready to start games and end them as well. The Spaniard has been excellent since the start of the new year, and this could be yet another game where he gets his chance to shine.
This would also allow Pedri to get some rest if Flick wants the €100 million-rated midfielder to catch a breather despite having a great season so far.
RAM: Lamine Yamal
There are simply no new adjectives left to describe the sensation that is Lamine Yamal. Despite being only 17 years old, the young Spaniard has already proven time and time again that he has a case to be regarded as one of the world’s best players irrespective of age.
CAM: Dani Olmo
At Flick’s disposal once again following his temporary registration, Dani Olmo can at least now help out Barcelona with his quality. For that reason, the Spaniard could be a likely starter for this game as well.
A leader both on and off the pitch, Raphinha has been surreal this season for Barcelona. The team always looks hungry and eager to hurt their opponents as much as possible whenever he is playing, and he should be starting this game as well.
