Despite their displeasure with the hierarchy, Lazio fans decided to stick by their beloved club, as evidenced by the impressive number of sold season tickets.
The Biancocelesti endured a disappointing end to the previous campaign, as Marco Baroni’s once-promising tenure came undone in the space of a few weeks. The club was eliminated from the Europa League quarter-finals at the hands of Bodo/Glimt, and then failed to qualify for any European competition after suffering a shocking defeat to Lecce on the final Serie A matchday.
To make matters even worse for the Aquile, their unbalanced finances prompted a transfer ban imposed by COVISOC, denying the club the opportunity to sign any new player throughout the summer. Needless to say, the supporters have been livid with Claudio Lotito and the management, taking their protests to the streets of Rome in recent weeks.
And yet, the fans still pledged their full support to the team by purchasing season tickets. The hierarchy has thus taken the opportunity to extend an olive branch to the fanbase by expressing its gratitude with a note posted on the official Lazio website, while encouraging more supporters to buy their tickets.
After the first week of general sale, we already have 25,000 subscribers! This result that certifies the passion and sense of belonging of our people. But we’re not satisfied: the goal is to surpass last year’s milestone, all together. If you haven’t already, subscribe now ! Lazio is home. And home is defended with heart.
As reported by LazioStory, the club had sold 29,036 season tickets for the 2024/25 campaign, but the 2023/24 season still holds the record, as 30,333 fans purchased their tickets, fueled by the exciting Champions League qualification at the time.
