A challenging encounter at Vallecas ends in a draw for Barcelona and Rayo Vallecano. Ultimately, both teams leave the game with one point each. However, this could have been much more ugly for Barça.

Apart from a penalty converted and won by Lamine Yamal, La Blaugrana failed to find the back of the net. Moreover, had it not been for the heroics of Joan Garcia in goal, Barça might not have come out of this game even with a singular point.

Here are the player ratings for the Barcelona players.

Player Ratings:

Joan Garcia: 10

Made several surreal saves in this game, and proved exactly why Barça signed him this summer and were in a rush to register him. He was arguably the sole reason that the team even managed to get a point from this game. Brilliant performance from the Spanish goalkeeper.

Jules Kounde: 6.0

Quite shaky at times, and it kept the French defender from having a decent performance. Tried to help out his teammates both in attack and in defense, but some of his touches were simply horrendous.

Eric Garcia: 8.0

Strong performance from the Spaniard, who did well to defend against the Rayo Vallecano forwards. He also did well to attempt to win aerial duels in attack as well.

Andreas Christensen: 8.0

Made some crucial blocks in defense early on and continued to be a great asset for Barça when it came to contesting duels. The Danish defender continues to prove his worth.

Alejandro Balde: 7.0

Made some decent runs moving forward, and they led to some promising opportunities for his teammates. Unfortunately, he could not help his team as much as he would have liked to in terms of finding the back of the net.

Frenkie de Jong: 8.0

The Dutchman did well to partner up with Pedri in midfield, even if he did have to take a backseat in order to let his teammate shine. Controlled the game well enough, and had a solid performance.

Pedri: 9.0

Simply magical on the pitch, and it was a separate hurdle of its own for Rayo Vallecano to get the ball away from Pedri. Moreover, he played some brilliant passes to his teammates and effortlessly seemed to be running the game for Barça.

Lamine Yamal: 8.0

The young winger had some great moments during the first half, including some great trickery in the box that led to Barça being awarded a penalty that he converted. However, especially in the second half, he was contained well by the opposition.

Dani Olmo: 5.0

Frustrating against Rayo Vallecano, he had a couple of good chances to score for the team. Unfortunately, he was also unable to find his teammates when they were in promising positions.

Raphinha: 6.0

Tried to get in good positions, but was underwhelming in terms of his final contributions. Too selfish at times, and his passes were not ideal even when he tried to find his Barcelona teammates.

Ferran Torres: 5.5

Added energy up top, but could not do much else with the lack of opportunities.

Substitutes:

Fermin Lopez: 6.5

Definitely brought in some extra energy, but looked out of sorts on the pitch at times.

Marcus Rashford: 5.5

Haphazard attempts and some questionable decisions, the English winger certainly did not make a good impression apart from a decent run here or there.

Gerard Martin: N/A

Not enough time or influence on the game to warrant a rating.

Robert Lewandowski: N/A
