Ivan Juric maintains Roma “made steps in right direction” despite defeat to Elfsborg | OneFootball

Roma manager Ivan Juric spoke to the capital club after the Giallorossi’s defeat to Elfsborg.

The Croatian technician did not sound too pessimistic after the display in Sweden that saw Roma fall 1-0 to the hosts.

“We did a lot of good things but not enough to score: we created a lot, but we lacked quality in shooting and in the final passes,” he said.

“We controlled the game well and for a long time, paying the price in those moments in which we were not good enough.”

“We paid dearly, there was a penalty that was also a bit random,” he added.

“I saw the team make steps in the right direction, we need to improve on winning back the ball and on preventive coverage.”

“Sure, it’s difficult be hopeful after a defeat but there is the feeling of having done a good job overall.”

“We need to raise the quality up front, we created a lot without scoring. We need to improve our passing and body positioning, but the game was good. I am confident about this team.”
