Italian footballing legend heaps praise on Lamine Yamal – “Very few like him” | OneFootball

Lamine Yamal has continued to shine bright in Europe with his superb performances for Barcelona this season.

The Spaniard recently scored a wonder goal in Barcelona’s recent draw with Inter Milan, after which, he has received praise from many footballing figures, with Rafa Benitez notably heaping praise on the forward.

Now, even Alessandro Nesta has joined the bandwagon, waxing lyrical about the Barcelona sensation in a recent interview.

What Nesta said about Yamal

Regarded as one of the best defenders in Italian footballing history, Nesta was recently asked about Yamal.

The former AC Milan defender did not hesitate in admiring the Barcelona star, even urging the media to avoid comparing him with other teenagers.

“How old is Lamine Yamal? 17. He has already won the Euros. He is special. He’s not someone to compare with others because he’s something extraordinary, almost inhuman,” he said (h/t Tuttosport).

With over 400 appearances in Serie A, Nesta has faced many top attackers during his playing career. Therefore, he is well aware of the aspects that make a good winger.

And to Nesta, Yamal is indeed a step above the rest, considering the way he has been playing for Barcelona this season.

“If we compare him to other youngsters, we just end up making things HARDER for them. He’s a special player, and there are very few like him,” he added.

Nesta’s comments came just before AC Monza’s Serie A clash against Atalanta. The Italian tactician, though, has been unable to steady the ship for Monza, who have already been relegated after securing two wins in 34 matches.

As for Yamal, he will be looking forward to playing a key role as Barcelona take on Real Valladolid in La Liga tonight.
