According to The Star, the player has no desire to depart Hillsborough but the club’s financial issues could necessitate a sale.

The 20-year-old is enjoying a breakout start to the season with the Owls, starting in all four of their opening league fixtures so far, even scoring his first goal at a Championship level against Wrexham.

However, the Yorkshire outfit’s problems behind the scenes could lead to a sale due to their need to raise funds.

It was reported over the weekend that Sheffield Wednesday turned down offers from Blackburn Rovers and bitter rivals Sheffield United for Cadamarteri.

It was claimed that a £1 million bid was not enough to convince the Owls to cash in on the player.

However, it is understood that the club are braced for further interest on Monday ahead of the 7pm deadline.

But it’s believed that Cadamarteri is keen to remain at Hillsborough, with his regular game time no doubt playing a factor.

There are reportedly teams in the Premier League, as well as the Championship, monitoring the situation surrounding the 20-year-old.

While no acceptable offers have yet been received, it’s believed that Sheffield Wednesday’s resolve will be tested before the summer market shuts.

Sheffield Wednesday’s summer business

It has been an incredibly turbulent summer for Sheffield Wednesday, who have lost several key players due to financial concerns.

The Owls have only added one new player to their first team squad, bringing Ethan Horvath to the club to bolster their goalkeeping options.

However, the likes of Josh Windass, Djeidi Gassama, Michael Smith and Callum Paterson have all departed Hillsborough since last season.

Next up for Sheffield Wednesday will be a home clash against Bristol City on 13 September.

Bailey Cadamarteri sale would be a big loss for Sheffield Wednesday

Sheffield Wednesday need to try and hold onto as many players as they can now due to how thin their squad has become.

Losing someone of Cadamarteri’s potential for a possible cut rate price would be a real blow, and would add even more frustration for supporters.

Pierce Charles is another hot commodity at the club that could leave, but losing either would be a huge setback for Henrik Pedersen.

If they can get through this evening without losing anyone else, then the club could potentially focus on any prospective takeover after American businessman John Textor was linked with talks last week.
