After Champions League heartbreak on Tuesday night against German giants Bayern Munich, Brendan Rodgers’ side will need to pick themselves up as they return to domestic action to face a high-flying Hibees side in the capital.

Celtic looking to go 16 points clear

The Hoops have the chance to extend their lead over theRangers at the top of the Scottish Premiership table back to 16 points before Philippe Clement’s men take on St Mirren at Ibrox in the afternoon.

Celtic have been in fine form domestically; scoring on 14 occasions in their last three matches. However, on the back of a gruelling night in Germany, this is currently as tough a test as Celtic could have faced following a brutal Champions League exit.

Hibs on 10 match unbeaten run

Hibs’ 10 match unbeaten run in the Premiership is their longest stretch without a defeat in six years. Since David Gray’s side’s dramatic 3-3 draw against Aberdeen at Easter Road in November, they have only lost once and that came at Celtic Park in a 3-0 defeat in early December.

Both teams will meet again in a two weeks time in Glasgow’s east end where they will go up against each other in the Scottish Cup quarter-final on Sunday 9 March.

Second Celtic match for McLean this season

The man in the middle for tomorrow lunchtime’s Premiership encounter is Steven McLean. The experienced whistler’s only other match involving Celtic this season came at Tynecastle in November where Rodgers’ men eased off Hearts to win 4-1.

The 43 year-old will be joined on-field by linesman David Roome and Alastair Mather. Manning VAR duties at Clydesdale House is Alan Muir and Ross Macleod will assist Muir as AVAR.

Kick-off in Leith is 12:30pm and Premier Sports 2 will provide live coverage of the match. For Hoops supporters who have a subscription and are based outside Britain and Ireland, Celtic TV are showing the game live as usual. There will also be a play-back on Celtic TV for all subscribers available from late on Saturday night.
