If there is one thing that keeps FC Barcelona mentally strong, it is the presence of Hansi Flick. Despite the poor results in the last two games, the Catalan giants have continued to march forward fearlessly. Ultimately, there is a lot of belief in the Barcelona coach, and he is expected to repay that trust.

Unfortunately, not everything is expected to go right in a season. There will always be issues and hindrances that pop up here and there, and not everything is in the control of the coach or his team either. Yet, it is how a team responds to these adversities that defines what their true pedigree is.

As far as Hansi Flick goes, according to SPORT, the German coach has not once decided to take the support of making excuses. From the moment he took on the Barcelona job, the first team’s head coach has been adamant about pointing the finger towards himself or his team’s performance rather than on other factors or elements.

For instance, against both Real Sociedad and Celta Vigo, the coach had a lot of reasons to possibly blame the poor officiating in the first game and then the red card and errors that took place in the most recent game. However, he instead looked towards his own team and blamed the poor performance that put them in bad spots.

Right after the draw against Celta Vigo, his words clearly resonated this belief of self-criticism more than anything else:

“We didn’t play well for the entire game.”

Reportedly, making no excuses was one of the demands that Barcelona had from Hansi Flick initially. The club wanted him to make the most out of the players at his disposal and try to do the best he could. So far, it seems that he has stayed true to his word and he continues to make his team push through on their own merit.

Even Joan Laporta himself, president of the club, previously commented on the fact that the new Barcelona head coach never makes excuses. While Flick never had to even consider it at the start of the season due to how well his team was performing, the true test of his character and endurance begins now that Barça is beginning to struggle.
