Sacha Tavolieri is reporting that Gent are eyeing a move for young PSV goalkeeper Kjell Peersman. The 20-year-old Belgian spent the 2024/2025 season on loan in the Challenger Pro League with Lierse and was the sides first choice goalkeeper during the season. Peersman made 27 appearances for the side, keeping seven clean sheets. Tavolieri reports that PSV are open to a permanent transfer for the young goalkeeper this summer. If Peersman does depart, he would have made 35 appearances for the PSV U21 side, having come through the youth system in Eindhoven.

Gent are in the market for a young goalkeeper, having seen Celestin De Schrevel levae to join RAAL on a free for next season. They have Davy Roef and Tom Vandenberghe both under contract for next season, but both are the other side of 30 and Roef is recovering from an injury. The side are set for another summer of transitions after sacking head coach Danijel Milicevic on Tuesday 27th of May and seeing a number of players leave on a free.
