Jordan Torunarigha has made it official that he is leaving Gent this summer. The Nigerian-German defender was out of contract in the summer and there was no inclination that he would sign a new one with the Belgians. The 27-year-old now leaves the side after three seasons with the side. Torunarigha should have plenty of suitors this summer, as he has been one of the top performing defenders in Belgium during his time in the Pro League.

For Gent, this is a poor piece of business. The side spent €3m to sign the defender from Hertha Berlin back in the summer of 2022, but now end up losing him for nothing. During his time in Belgium he was the subject of interest from abroad, but Gent kept hold of the defender giving how important he was to them. Torunarigha has certainly rebuilt his career after struggling during times with Hertha Berlin. He leaves Belgium having made 145 appearances for the Buffaloes, scoring four goals and grabbing six assists.
