AC Milan know that they must win against Atalanta to keep their hopes of a European spot alive, but they might be without two key players.
As La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) writes this morning, Milan are obliged to win in order to keep alive their hopes of qualifying for the Europa League or the Conference League next season.
Three days later there is the Coppa Italia semi-final second leg against Inter (the first leg was a a 1-1 draw), but Sergio Conceiçao will field his best team and hopes to recover two important players in Mike Maignan and Santiago Gimenez.
Both are currently in doubt. Maignan returned to training yesterday at Milanello, after the head injury a week ago against Udinese following a hard clash with teammate Alex Jimenez and a few days of complete rest.
He trained alone though and will do the same again today. His return to full training will take place tomorrow given that the medical protocol for head injuries prevents a player from playing official matches and training with his teammates for seven days.

Whether he will be on the pitch on Sunday will depend on his feelings. The Frenchman would like to play against Atalanta, but at Milanello they will decide with the utmost caution and for this reason it is not excluded that he will only come back against Inter.
In addition to Maignan, Gimenez is also in doubt, having trained separately again yesterday. The Mexican centre-forward hopes to join his teammates between today and tomorrow and at least be on the bench on Sunday evening against the Bergamo-based side.
