Suning’s time as Inter owners is coming to an end.

This marks the end of an eight-year tenure by the Chinese company at the helm of the Nerazzurri.

The first match that Inter played under Suning’s ownership was at the start of the 2016-17 season.

That was a 2-0 away loss to Chievo Verona. This was the first match in the brief but disastrous spell that Frank De Boer had as Inter coach.

That first season was a particularly rocky one for Suning at Inter. But they eventually got the hang of it.

There has still been plenty of turbulence during Suning’s eight-year era as Nerazzurri owners. But there have been seven trophies, and the sense of an upward trajectory in recent years.

From Suning To Oaktree – Verona Away Clash Marks Inter Milan Ownership Change

Sunday’s Serie A match against Lazio was the last match that Inter played with Suning as owners.

It was, fittingly enough, the match after which the Nerazzurri got to lift the trophy for the Serie A title, as the last home match of the season.

This week, however, Oaktree will begin their takeover of the club.

Despite the successes on the pitch, Suning have proven financially unable to keep control of Inter.

Therefore, the Chinese company will not even be Nerazzurri owners for their final match of the season.

Inter travel to Verona to face Hellas Verona in their final Serie A match of the campaign.

By that time, Oaktree will have already begun their own journey as Nerazzurri owners.

It’s been eight years and a lot has changed. But once again, Inter will inaugurate the start of a new ownership era by travelling to Verona.
