Barcelona manager Hansi Flick appears to have a perfect plan to slowly integrate Dani Olmo into the starting XI, and if everything is on track, the Spaniard would be in contention to start the Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid.
It must be noted that Olmo played the final 10 minutes against Borussia Dortmund last night after having returned from an injury he picked up against Osasuna.
This appearance was a part of Flick’s plan for Olmo to eventually pick up the pace ahead of the more important matches of the season, including the Copa del Rey final.
Right now, there are still 10 more days to go for the final to be played, and in that time, Barcelona have two league matches against Celta Vigo and Mallorca. The idea is for him to slowly get into the rhythm.
Understandably, as reported by SPORT, Flick has not made a firm decision yet as Fermin Lopez is performing admirably. However, the manager is of the opinion that Olmo provides a better option in terms of attacking instinct.

But to achieve that, the former RB Leipzig player must prove his fitness levels in the training sessions and the two league matches.
Furthermore, what is working in Olmo’s favour is the fact that both Fermin and Gavi have played a lot in his absence. Between the two, though, the former continues to provide a major headache.
It is not to say that Fermin lacks the hunger, but the fact remains that the La Masia player is struggling to score goals, something that Olmo has done admirably in his limited appearances.
Gavi, on his part, has provided versatility as he has been used as a winger as well as a false nine. But everything points to the fact that he will be extensively used against Celta and Mallorca.
The idea with Olmo right now is for him to gain match fitness, and for that, Barcelona will take no risks. However, if everything goes as planned, Flick would prefer him for the Copa del Rey final.
