FC Barcelona have already played their last game of the 2024-25 season, and the Catalan team is not expected to be in action for a few weeks now, at least until their pre-season friendlies.

However, this does not mean that the fans will be unable to see several Blaugrana players in action in the coming few days. This is particularly the case as there are some highly exciting international matches and competitions coming up this summer.

Five Barcelona players in the U-19 pre-list

One such competition that is expected to generate a lot of excitement is the U-19 European Championship, which is scheduled to be played out in Romania between June 13 and 26.

As Mundo Deportivo has reported, the Spain U-19 coach, Paco Gallardo, has named the 26-player training list for this competition, and there are five Barcelona players present on this list who will train for the competition from June 2 to 9.

Three of these Blaugrana players who have made this list are defenders, i.e., Alexis Olmedo, Andres Cuenca, and Jofre Torrents. In the midfield, Quim Junyent will represent the Catalan club, who is the only one of these five players who is not a part of Barcelona Atletic.

The most surprising name of these five is Jan Virgili, who has been called up for the national team duty for the first time.

Hector Fort not called up

On the other hand, the most surprising absence from this list is that of Hector Fort, who had been a starter in the last three qualifying matches of the competition. He has also not been called up for the U-21 European Championship, scheduled to take place between June 11 and 28.

However, this list is not the conclusive squad for the Championship, as Gallardo will have to exclude six names after the end of the training period and the start of the competition, when Spain will be looking to defend its status as the U-19 champions.
