Official: Barcelona star undergoes surgery | OneFootball

La Liga giants Barcelona have on Friday announced that a member of the club’s first-team setup has undergone surgery.

The player in question? Héctor Fort.

Defender Fort, for his part, is fresh off a solid season in Catalunya’s capital in 2024/25.

En route to Barcelona securing a domestic treble under the watch of new boss Hansi Flick, the 18-year-old racked up 21 appearances across all competitions.

Fort showcased his impressive versatility along the way, lining out at full-back on both sides, expected to play an even more prominent role next time out as a result.

And yet, over the course of the campaign, the youngster was held back by a respiratory concern.

This comes amid confirmation on the part of Barcelona themselves that, on Friday, Fort underwent surgery on his nasal septum.

As per a statement across the website and social media platforms of the Blaugrana:

‘Héctor Fort has undergone nasal septum surgery to address the respiratory issues and chronic congestion that have affected him throughout the season. His expected recovery time is four weeks.’
