Theo Hernandez was subject to a transfer bid from Como in January, and AC Milan were happy to see the full-back depart, and Cesc Fabregas has made an admission about the transfer.
With all due respect to Como, the fact that Milan accepted a bid from a newly promoted side for one of the best full-backs in recent years is ludicrous. However, it shows how far Theo has fallen this season.
The Frenchman is no longer one of the best in the world because that relies on consistency. Instead, he has the ability to be that but fails to show it on a too-regular basis – an unfortunate reality for everyone.
The club accepted a bid for less than half of their summer asking price in January, which tells a worrying tale, but it shows that the chapter is well and truly done with the Rossoneri.
Recently, Fabregas spoke at the Amici dei Bambini event in Milan, and he spoke about the move for the Frenchman and his words have been relayed by Calciomercato.com.
“We wanted him? It’s something the president said, it’s his thing. I had nothing to do with it. But if the president said it, it will certainly be the truth.”
