Former Liverpool defender José Enrique, now a football agent, has offered two players, including Rangers’ Todd Cantwell, to Lecce coach Luca Gotti but accidentally sent the message to the wrong Instagram account.

Rangers’ attacking midfielder Todd Cantwell and ex-Sassuolo loanee Marcus Pedersen have been offered to Lecce coach Gotti by the players’ agent José Enrique, a former Liverpool defender.

The trouble is that Gotti didn’t receive the message from José Enrique because the former Spanish defender sent it to an Instagram fan page dedicated to the Italian tactician, called ‘Luca Gotti reacts.’

José Enrique sent the players’ Transfermarkt pages, saying that both Cantwell and Pedersen could be of interest to the Lecce coach.

Pedersen has returned to Feyenoord after a one-year spell at Sassuolo, while Cantwell scored five goals and provided four assists in 26 appearances in the Scottish Premiership in 2023-24.

Gotti has recently made headlines in Italy, as Lecce director Pantaleo Corvino revealed he hired the Italian tactician this past March after he saved his life by helping him escape a burning hotel.

Gotti also helped Lecce secure Serie A survival last season and has therefore extended his contract at the Stadio Via Del Mare until June 2026.
