Eintracht beat VfL Germania 1894 13-1 in a friendly at the Ahorn Camp Sportpark on Wednesday evening.

The Eagles’ starting XI for their final friendly of this season’s ‘Eintracht in the Region’ series featured five changes from Tuesday’s 11-0 victory over FC Alsbach. Hrvoje Smolcic, Jean-Mattéo Bahoya, Timothy Chandler, Philipp Max, Nnamdi Collins and Nacho Ferri kept their places in the team, with Simon Simoni, Farès Chaibi, Aurelio Buta, Junior Dina Ebimbe and Tuta all drafted in. Sebastian Rode was also among the substitutes after his second-half cameo against Alsbach.

Nacho, who netted Eintracht’s fifth goal on Tuesday, opened the scoring in front of 1,600 fans at the Ahorn Camp Sportpark. Chaibi’s deflected effort made it 2-0 not long afterwards, and Buta’s clever back-heel teed up Tuta to fire home the Eagles’ third inside ten minutes. Further efforts from Max, Chaibi and Bahoya made it 6-0 midway through the first half, before the young Frenchman added a seventh with a close-range header.

Bahoya was heavily involved in the Eagles’ eighth, sending a low ball across the face of goal for Max to poke home at the far post. Chandler almost got his name on the scoresheet before the interval, but Germania goalkeeper Anton Harbrecht denied the 34-year-old with a fine save. Kevin Trapp, wearing the number ten shirt, was brought on as an outfield player for the second half and made it 9-0 within five minutes of the restart, finding the bottom corner with a smart finish. Bahoya completed his hat-trick shortly before the hour-mark after fine link-up play between Chandler and Trapp, before Chandler got in on the act with a curling effort into the far corner.

Brazilian goalkeeper Kauã Santos was also given the opportunity to stretch his legs with 20 minutes remaining, with Rode entering the fray soon afterwards for his final appearance in Eintracht colours. Germania gave their fans something to cheer about with a quarter of an hour left, Branislav Tomic getting the better of Simoni with a long-range drive.

Trapp slotted home Hugo Ekitiké’s low delivery for the Eagles’ 12th of the evening, but Rode had the final say, firing home from the spot after Chandler was fouled in the box.

Kevin Trapp: "It was about having fun again as a team and with the fans. I think it was entertaining. For me, the question was how long I could hold out [in attack]. Seppl had a nice send-off with his goal."
