I will always say that I enjoy hearing from former Chelsea defender Gary Cahill. I think he often has some good things to say on Chelsea, and I always loved him as a player.
Cahill has been doing quite a bit of punditry recently. and it’s always good to see him speaking on Chelsea games. This weekend he has been speaking on Chelsea’s 1-0 away win against Bournemouth in the Premier League.
Chelsea got very lucky in the end to actually win this and probably deserved to be losing this one. The home side missed a penalty and they had a host of chances to score goals, way more than Chelsea did.
But it was a strong of top saves from Robert Sanchez and a late instinctive goal from Christopher Nkunku that was enough to see Chelsea through and come away with all three points.
Nkunku scored the winner vs Bournemouth
Cahill thought Nkunku showed strength and determination to get his goal late on, which ended up being such an important goal for Chelsea.
As cited on X, Cahill said: “We spoke about Sancho, his impact in the second half, great ball in, and I think Nkunku, I am not sure how much he knew about the turn, to be honest. It’s almost like his momentum and determination got him on the end of that, used his body very well, very strong, yeah, and got the decisive goal.”
Cahill is right as per usual, Nkunku did very well to squeeze that ball in and showed great physicality.
