Departing Arsenal star Thomas Partey closing on La Liga return | OneFootball

Free agent midfielder Thomas Partey is inching towards a return to Spanish football.

That’s according to transfer market insider Ekrem Konur, who points towards Villarreal as the Ghanaian’s expected landing spot.

Partey is for his part currently not attached to any club.

After his contract terms with Premier League giants Arsenal came to a close earlier in the summer, the 32-year-old has since been fielding proposals from across the continent.

And as alluded to above, if the latest word doing the rounds on Sunday is anything to go by, then a frontrunner now appears to have emerged in the Partey sweepstakes.

As per the aforementioned Ekrem Konur, the midfielder will ‘soon’ link up with Marcelino’s Villarreal.

Any such move would of course mark a return to La Liga for Partey, after the African previously spent time on the books of Leganés, Mallorca, Almería and, most memorably, Atlético Madrid.
