Given Real Madrid’s recent struggles with defensive injuries, Los Blancos are eagerly awaiting some good news on the injury front.
According to ElDesmarque, such news could be closer than previously thought, as reports indicate that David Alaba could be getting close to a return to action.
Alaba has been missing since last December, when an ACL injury took him out of action, meaning he has been out for almost a year at this stage.
The Austrian is now back to training on the ball, meaning that he is certainly in the latter stages of his recovery and could be making a return to action soon.
This couldn’t have come at a better time for Real Madrid as in the next few months they will have a massive increase in fixtures.
With the Super Cup in Saudi Arabia, and the rescheduled Valencia fixture, January could see Real play 9 games in a period of 27 days.
Carlo Ancelotti will need as many players fit as possible to navigate such an intense fixture list successfully.
