Juventus decided to exclude Danilo from their squad travelling to Saudi Arabia for the Supercoppa Italiana as his January exit becomes increasingly likely, with Napoli trying to find a way to sign him for free.

The Brazilian defender remained on the bench for the entire 90 minutes in the Bianconeri’s 2-2 home draw against Fiorentina, and Thiago Motta’s decision to keep him out of the squad that will travel to Saudi Arabia to take on Milan in the Supercoppa Italiana semifinal came as a further confirmation of the club’s intention to part ways with the player.

According to Fabrizio Romano, this was just another sign Danilo is ‘completely out’ of Juventus’ plans and free to leave in January.

Antonio Conte has reportedly identified the veteran as the ideal defensive reinforcement for his Napoli team. While Rai Sport has claimed that the Partenopei have reached an agreement to bring Danilo to Stadio Diego Maradona next summer, they are eager to complete the move in January instead.

With his contract expiring next June, Aurelio De Laurentiis’ club is not willing to pay any fee for a player that they would get as a free agent in six months, but the Bianconeri have not been open to letting him go without payment so far.
