Chelsea have decided to send Marc Guiu out on loan for the upcoming season, but without an option to buy for the receiving club, according to Fabrizio Romano.
In addition, the London club are prioritising any loan moves to fellow English teams, indicating Chelsea’s strategic focus on ensuring Guiu eventually adapts to Premier League football while remaining firmly under their ownership.
Guiu, 19, joined Chelsea last summer from Barcelona, where he was considered one of La Masia’s brightest emerging talents. The Blues triggered his release clause as part of their continued strategy to stockpile and develop Europe’s best young prospects.
The insistence on a 'no buy' option speaks volumes about how highly Chelsea rate Guiu’s long-term potential. The club clearly sees him as a future asset rather than a short-term profit opportunity.
