Chelsea won’t be signing AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan this summer, and as things stand there’s only a small chance they sign another goalkeeper according to Sky reporter Kaveh Solhekol.
The Blues are once again set for a busy summer and have already completed the signing of Liam Delap from Ipswich, with more new faces set to arrive at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea are looking to add a left winger, centre back and versatile forward to strengthen Enzo Maresca’s squad ahead of next season.
Whilst a striker was always the main priority, supporters really wanted a new goalkeeper given the uncertainty between the sticks over the last couple of seasons.
Robert Sanchez isn’t popular amongst supporters, and no keeper made more errors leading to goals than the Spaniard in the Premier League last season.
The Blues signed both Filip Jorgensen and Mike Penders last summer, and are thought to have high hopes for the young duo.

Chelsea had identified Maignan as a target and made an approach to AC Milan for the 29-year-old, but walked away from a deal as they only valued the Frenchman at £12.6m, with Milan wanting £20-£25m.
It’s been reported the Blues could look to sign Maignan on a free in 2026, but it appears he won’t be joining this summer after the latest update from Solhekol.
He took to X.com and said:
“The Mike Maignan chapter is closed for Chelsea.
“They will not be signing him this summer. As reported earlier this month, they were offered the AC Milan goalkeeper but walked away from a potential deal before the first window of the summer.
“Chelsea did not make a bid for Maignan and as things stand there is only a small chance they will sign another goalkeeper this summer.
Djordje Petrovic excelled on loan at Strasbourg last season and the expectation was the Serb would challenge for the number one shirt next season.

However, he was left out of the squad for the Club World Cup, and it’s subsequently transpired he asked to be omitted.
The 25-year-old reportedly wanted guarantees he would be first choice which Chelsea couldn’t give him, and Petrovic has an agreement with the club he can leave for £25m.
