Today, the shareholders of AC Milan were set to meet to discuss the balance sheet for last season. However, the Association of Small Shareholders have refused to take part.

In a meeting, which should have been positive, there has been some news emerged from Calcio e Finanza about the participation of APA Milan. Today’s meeting should have been a chance to look back on the financial positives of last season – with the Rossoneri set to report a second successive positive net result for a year.

Nevertheless, the big news about the meeting is the fact that the APA group refused to attend the meeting, stating their decision was a ‘protest’ against the Board of Directors for closing negotiations with the members of the Association.

There have been six years’ worth of requests for negotiations and the ‘unexpected’ closure of them has been met with anger. It is only the latest instalment of the group’s frustration towards the club after the president of the APA made comments about the lack of communication earlier this year.

It must be underlined, though, that it is a small percentage (grouped under the APA) of the total of hundreds of small shareholders, whose shares weigh in total for 0.02%. So the impact of their absence is not major.

Frustrations directed towards the club are heightened at present, and the short space between this action and the protests by the AIMC aims to send a message.
