‘Goals, goals, goals!!!

An attacking line up that delivered.

We didn’t panic at the start when they had chances and we kept our cool when Anthony Taylor decided that there wasn’t going to be any free kicks for us today!!

Momentum building for a great end of season.

Bring on Brighton…’

Greg McPeake:

‘Called my mate Burnley Jon and asked him if he would like to contribute to the Mag with final whistle comments.

He declined, saying Burnley will be good in the Championship and be back up again better and stronger!

There you have it.

All that said, great performance by us in putting Burnley to the sword.

Thought we were solid throughout!’

Simon Ritter:

‘Burnley did exactly what I expected; trying to play out from the back.

The line-up worried me a bit because of the potential workload for Bruno.

However, Longstaff stepped up, as did Murphy.

Wilson and Isak combo is definitely worth trying against the weaker teams.’

GToon:

‘Brilliant result today.

Burnley have been doing ok recently, so to beat them 1-4 is pretty impressive.

We seem to have started to gather momentum at just the right time.

Spurs are in sight now and Chelsea are not.

Great to have players returning at just the right time, although match fitness might be an issue.

If we finish 6th it will be an incredible achievement after all the injuries.’

Tony Mallabar:

‘Great display and in my opinion, Bruno’s best performance in a black and white shirt.

A happy afternoon spent in Colne enjoying Lancashire’s finest sweet sherries.

We enjoyed Burnley’s new safe standing area.

But on 55 minutes after going 4-0 up, large parts of turf Moor emptied.

Which showed the growing gap of the have and have nots.

Burnley fans are just as passionate as us and unfortunately they will never aspire to reach the stars we are now chasing.’

Matt Busby said to Joe Harvey:

‘That seemed like a potential banana skin going into it, and for 15 minutes, I thought it might just be one of those days.

But once we got going, and after Wilson’s opener, it was never in doubt.

That win puts us up to 6th ahead of Man United’s own tricky away fixture on Monday night at the Palace.

Great to have such strength on the bench and seeing big Joe introduced with quarter of an hour left was great.

What rankles slightly is we should have scored far more and losing the clean sheet was disappointing.

That’s the way it goes when you’re setting high standards for yourself. HTL.’

David Punton:

‘Professional.

Job done.

Well done all.

In the end that was made to look quite easy.

Burnley headed for the drop and got no favours got us today as we stay in the hunt for European football.

Great to see Isak among the goals and the penalty miss firmly put behind him.

One of the easiest afternoons of this marathon season.’

Billy Miller:

‘A day for records to tumble.

Wilson’s goal makes him our second highest all time Premier League goalscorer behind only Alan Shearer.

Isak’s goal meant he’s the first player to score 20 Premier League goals since the same man.

And we’ve now scored more goals than in any other 38 game Premier League season.

I’ve often wondered what would happen with a penalty if both strikers were on the pitch.

With Isak chasing the Golden Boot, I can understand why he got the honour.

I’d imagine Wilson will be insisting on having the next one after the Swede failed to convert from the spot for the first time in his Newcastle career.

A great away win at a time we need to get some away day form with two more adventures on the road yet to come.

It’s all in our hands but let’s hope West Ham and Palace do us some favours to make this an extra special Bank Holiday weekend.’
