Manchester United have made four signings during the ongoing transfer window and they could pursue another deal before the August 30 deadline.

It is clear that Manuel Ugarte is their next priority, but the club are yet to find a solution with Paris Saint-Germain, who are eyeing £51 million for his services.

Speaking to The United Stand, Fabrizio Romano has now revealed that Ugarte is crazy about joining United and he is desperate to make the move happen.

The reputed journalist added that the Red Devils have signed their top targets so far. The arrival of Ugarte is seen as the ‘best way’ to complete the transfer window.

He said: “Manuel Ugarte is crazy about joining Manchester United. He is desperate to make the move happen. They have gotten their top targets so far, and the potential signing of Manuel Ugarte is seen as the best way to complete that.”

United could push through Ugarte deal before deadline

As per Romano, Ugarte agreed personal terms with the Red Devils in late July, but United are yet to make any progress in negotiations with the French champions.

In our view, the club could step up discussions in the coming days after player sales. The club are in advanced talks with Panathinaikos over a £8.5m deal for Facundo Pellistri.

Meanwhile, Scott McTominay is also likely to head for the exit door. Fulham seem prepared to meet the £30m valuation to sign the 27-year-old before the transfer deadline.

United could receive £38.5m from the pair’s departure. The Red Devils could be eyeing a deal of £45m for Ugarte and it is left to be seen whether they can convince Les Parisiens.

Luis Enrique’s side recently landed the signature of Joao Neves from Benfica, who is a defensive midfielder similar to Ugarte.

They are also eyeing a marquee striker this month and this could urge them to accept a reduced fee for Ugarte in the coming days.

Ugarte, who has been described as ‘tireless‘ by PSG’s official website, would be a solid upgrade on Casemiro for the Red Devils.

The 23-year-old won a stunning 3.9 tackles and 6.4 duels per league outing last term with 7.2 ball recoveries.

He completed 91 percent of his passes, losing possession on just 7.4 occasions on average.

Ugarte should establish himself as the number one defensive midfielder under manager Erik ten Hag.
