Barcelona star limps off with injury vs Leganés | OneFootball

La Liga giants Barcelona have on Saturday evening been dealt a blow on the personnel front.

This comes after Alejandro Balde was forced into a premature departure from the club’s latest outing.

Barcelona are of course currently locked in action, in a La Liga meeting with relegation-battling Leganés.

As things stand in Spain’s capital, the sides are deadlocked at 0-0, amid what has been a tightly-contested affair to date.

*Update* – Barcelona have since taken the lead, through a Jorge Sáenz own goal.

As alluded to above, though, their struggles to break the deadlock have proven far from the only concern for Hansi Flick’s visitors at the Estadio Municipal Butarque.

This comes with the Blaugrana having also seen a leading member of the club’s backline limp off.

Late in the first-half this evening, Alejandro Balde pulled up suddenly, with what appeared to be a muscular problem of some form.

After being tended to by the Barca medical staff, the left-back was in turn hooked from proceedings, replaced in the Catalans’ XI by Gerard Martín.

It now remains to be seen if Balde is facing up to any sort of extended spell on the sidelines.
