FC Barcelona have arrived to take on Leganes away from home in a big La Liga clash. Since this is now the final stretch of the season, each game is crucial. However, Barcelona know better than anyone that there is still a lot of work left to do this season.
In this particular game, the Catalan giants are well aware of the threat that Leganes poses. After all, this side has previously already beaten Barcelona this season at the Montjuic Stadium. For that reason, it seems that Hansi Flick did not want to take this encounter lightly.
Moreover, that is exactly why the German coach has decided to field a strong starting eleven, as has been officially shared by the club.
In goal, Wojciech Szczesny retains his place as the team’s primary goalkeeper. He remains unbeaten so far in 2025 and is yet to taste defeat while playing for the team, so it makes sense for him to start.
Ahead of him, Ronald Araujo and Inigo Martinez start for La Blaugrana. Both players have good experience backing them up, and it is a physically capable centre-back partnership that Hansi Flick has decided to field, with Martinez recently having received praise from the coach as well.
On their flanks, Alejandro Balde and Jules Kounde both start. They provide a great mixture of offensive and defensive qualities, and that is something that could prove to be vital in this game for Barça.
The midfield consists of Pedri and Eric Garcia as the double-pivot. Both of them will be looking to contribute defensively while also making use of their technical abilities to bypass the Leganes structure and create some chances.
In front of those two midfielders, Lamine Yamal and Raphinha start as the team’s two wingers and will be looking to create problems for Leganes. In between them, Fermin Lopez starts as the team’s primary central attacking midfielder.
Lastly, Barcelona ace Robert Lewandowski starts as the centre-forward. He has been in great goalscoring form recently, and the Polish legend will be looking to continue that form by potentially finding the back of the net in this game as well.
