Barcelona star Pedri has revealed that he was forced into a last-minute positional change, for the club’s latest outing.

Barca of course marked their return to action a short time ago, welcoming Sevilla to Catalunya’s capital for a La Liga clash.

When all was said and done, Hansi Flick’s troops emerged on the right side of a dominant 5-1 scoreline, courtesy of goals on the part of all of Robert Lewandowski (2), Pedri and Pablo Torre (2).

Pedri, for his part, featured from the off in the clash, joining Marc Casadó in a two-man pivot at the base of boss Flick’s midfield.

Speaking to the media on the back of the full-time whistle at Montjuïc, however, the Spanish international revealed that he was in fact originally intended to line out in a more advanced role.

As much changed upon Eric García picking up an injury during the warm-up, though.

“I was going to play as a no.10, but Eric got injured in the warm-up,” Pedri confirmed.
