Although Barcelona had lost their last three LaLiga games, they bounced back with a thumping 5-1 win over Mallorca on Tuesday.
Scorers: Muriqi 43'; Torres 12', Raphinha 56' (P), 74', De Jong 80'
Hansi Flick showed he trusts the depth of talent in his squad as an adjusted Barcelona scored five goals against Mallorca. But it wasn't so easy at first.
The opener arrived after an error from the hosts. Goalkeeper Leo Román rushed off his line but didn't communicate with his defensive teammates.
A rushed clearance then deflected awkwardly before the ball fell to Ferran Torres, who made no mistake in slamming home.
Mallorca, however, managed to draw level after picking apart Barcelona's offside trap. Vedat Muriqi beat the system and made things 1-1.
Flick must have had a stern half-time talk with yet another win appearing to slip away. So rightfully, the visitors turned up in the second half.
Raphinha, wearing the armband, scored an emphatic penalty before finishing off a trivela assist from Lamine Yamal for the club's third.
The fourth goal all but put the game to bed when substitute Frenkie de Jong scored with literally his first touch of the game.
The Dutchman then set up the fifth as Pau Victor became the second substitute to score with a finish at the back post.
Mallorca notably had one of the best defences in LaLiga before conceding five.
Looking at the table, Barcelona now have a four-point lead over second-place Real Madrid (who have one game in hand). Mallorca, meanwhile, sit sixth.
