The extraordinary talents that continue to help out FC Barcelona are undeniably unique. Each player within the team has their own role to play, and it just so happens that some of the regular starters also happen to be quite young. This blend of youth and experience at Barcelona has proven to be quite effective, and it continues to work out.
However, without a shadow of a doubt, the most influential youngster at Barcelona is none other than Lamine Yamal. The 17-year-old La Masia talent has proven himself to be one of Europe’s most lethal and efficient forwards, and right after returning from injury, he is already making an impact again.
In the last game against RCD Mallorca, Yamal finally got to start for Barcelona after a rather long wait due to his recovery. Yet again, however, he proved that the Catalan giants are a completely different team when he is starting for them.
Moreover, as highlighted by Mundo Deportivo, he has now also reclaimed his throne as La Liga’s best dribbler following the latest game. After this recent 5-1 victory for Barcelona, Yamal has now successfully completed 40 dribbles in La Liga this season, more than any other player.
This number could possibly have been even higher had the player not been injured, but excuses did not stop him from managing to do it either way. Ultimately, he has now overtaken Vinicius Jr to reclaim his place as the player in La Liga with the most successful dribbles, with the Real Madrid winger currently having 38 to his name.
However, Yamal did not stop there when it came to his performance against Mallorca. He also provided a sensational assist that gives him more security now at the top of the assist provider charts in Spain’s First Division. With eight to his name this season, he is two clear of fellow in-form Barcelona star Raphinha.
Now back at full fitness and looking ready to take on any and all challenges that come up ahead, Yamal is the missing piece that Hansi Flick’s team so desperately needed. With Barcelona having no room to slack off now, it is up to the players to deliver in every single game from here on out.
