Ansu Fati is on the verge of leaving FC Barcelona for a new adventure with Ligue 1 outfit AS Monaco.

After enduring a difficult season at Barça, where he struggled for minutes and with fitness issues, the 22-year-old forward will be hoping to get things back on track with this move.

Move to be finalised on Friday

Now, according to Mundo Deportivo, Ansu Fati’s move from Barcelona to Monaco is expected to be finalised this Friday.

The terms – both sporting and financial – proposed by the Ligue 1 outfit’s manager Adi Hutter and the club’s board have convinced the winger and his agent, Jorge Mendes.

A full agreement has been reached between all parties, with the two clubs sharing his wages 50-50.

The idea is for Ansu to complete his medicals on Thursday, sign his contract with Monaco and finalise the move on Friday so that he can start training with his team on Saturday.

Before sealing the deal, though, Ansu and Barça will finalise a one-year contract extension.

The La Masia gem’s current contract runs until 2027 and the extension to 2028 will allow the total salary to be spread across three years instead of two, providing some relief on the Financial Fair Play front.

The forward will join on a season-long loan with the Principality outfit having a buy option worth €11 million. Barça will have a buyback clause worth €28 million.

Ansu’s departure will leave the No. 10 shirt at Barcelona vacant, and everything points at Lamine Yamal being handed the iconic jersey next season.
