The board at La Liga giants Barcelona have already identified one area of the club’s first-team squad as being in need of reinforcement in the summer of 2026.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards centre-forward as the position in question.
Barcelona’s attack is of course currently spearheaded by Robert Lewandowski, fresh off a 42-goal season last time out.
The Pole, though, is due to see his contract terms at the Camp Nou expire in the summer of 2026.
Due to turn 38 just months later, the expectation is that Lewandowski, in turn, will not be offered a renewal.
As much will leave a sizable hole in Hansi Flick’s frontline, one which Deco and co. evidently believe Ferran Torres is not yet ready to fill.
In turn, the Blaugrana are already combing the market for potential striker signings in 12 months’ time.
As per Sport:
‘The investment will go to the winger (this summer) and the strategic succession of the ‘9’ will be for the next summer market.’
