Barcelona midfield starlet not called up for Atletico clash along with Fati, Christensen | OneFootball

As Barcelona get set to take on Atletico Madrid in the first leg of their Copa del Rey semi-final tie later tonight, manager Hansi Flick has decided against officially releasing the squad list of players called up for the game.

This is the second time this season that the Blaugrana have not announced the squad list before a game, with the previous instance occurring for the La Liga encounter against Sevilla.

No Pablo Torre, Ansu Fati, and Andreas Christensen

However, despite the squad list not being announced, Mundo Deportivo reports that Barcelona starlet Pablo Torre has not been called up for tonight’s match by Hansi Flick, along with Ansu Fati, and Andreas Christensen.

The entire squad concentrated at at the Hotel Torre Melina Gran Meliá ahead of the match which kicks off in around seven hours.

But Torre has not joined his teammates, along with Fati and Christensen. The young midfielder’s exclusion is a technical decision by manager Flick as he can only name 22 players in the squad for a Copa del Rey match compared to 23 in La Liga.

As for Fati, he continues to remain absent after being left out against Las Palmas this past weekend. He has not played a single game since January’s cup tie vs Barbastro.

Christensen, on the other hand, has recently recovered from a soleus muscle injury in his right leg and returned to team training. But no risks are being taken with his comeback.

Lamine Yamal available

As expected, though, Lamine Yamal will be available against Atletico Madrid, despite missing training on Monday due to a bruised foot.

The winger has joined the rest of the squad at the team hotel, walking normally, without showing any signs of discomfort.
