FC Barcelona find themselves in a pickle with regard to the return to their home stadium, Spotify Camp Nou, as delays in renovation work have seen the move get pushed forward.
Initially, the plan was for the Blaugrana to move back to Camp Nou from Montjuic by the end of 2024, but the deadline has been kept moving forward as the stadium is still not ready.
In fact, given the situation, the Catalans are contemplating the Clasico against Real Madrid, set to be played on May 11, to a major stadium in Europe in case a return to their home stadium is not possible by then.
However, now, Mundo Deportivo reports that the construction company Limak has assured Barcelona of the availability of Spotify Camp Nou for the team’s final two La Liga matches against Real Madrid and Villarreal on May 11 and 18, as well as a potential Champions League semi-final, should the team progress.

Following the board meeting held this afternoon at the club’s offices, sources within the organisation suggest that Spotify Camp Nou is the only viable option for the final league games, with an expected capacity of 60,000 spectators in the available stands.
Recent reports have raised the possibility of finishing the season at Montjuic or even at the Estadi Johan Cruyff, potentially increasing its 6,000-seat capacity to 15,000 or 17,000 by adding additional seating.
It was also suggested that there was a chance for Barcelona to extend their use of Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys beyond the previously agreed-upon date of April 23.
However, achieving this would depend on reaching an agreement with the event organisers of the scheduled concerts, allowing them to be postponed.
Despite these contingencies, Barcelona maintain a consistent stance, stating that the team will finish the season at Spotify Camp Nou.
