In the last few days, speculation about a possible return of Neymar Jr. to FC Barcelona has been quite rife, especially since the forward has returned to his native country of Brazil to play with his childhood club, Santos.
The Samba star himself is reportedly keen to return to the Blaugrana club to show that he is once again back at his best level and also to maximize his chances of making it to the World Cup 2026.
However, according to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona themselves have no plans of bringing the superstar back into their team, as his profile does not match their age and immediate impact requirements.
Furthermore, the Catalans have other priority targets that they will be looking to get in the next summer transfer window.
It is quite clear that the Blaugranes are looking to reinforce their forward line in the next market, and they are looking for players who can score goals while also linking up well with the rest of the team.
In this regard, the most popular player in their list is the Newcastle United forward Alexander Isak, while the wingers Luis Diaz and Rafael Leao are also well-liked by Barcelona.
All of these players are performing at a very high level in Europe, thus giving reason to the Catalans to believe that they will be better fits in their squad than the Brazilian.
In fact, the Blaugranes already had the option to reincorporate the Canarinha star in their team in previous years but decided not to avail it.
As things stand, his return is not being considered by the Catalan side for now either, despite the good start that he has had to his career in Brazil, where he marked his debut with a goal and an assist and has gone on to contribute with more goals and assists in ensuing matches as well.
