Atlético Madrid announce transfer agreement with Real Sociedad | OneFootball

La Liga giants Atlético Madrid have on Saturday announced a fresh addition to the club’s defensive ranks.

This comes amid confirmation that, at long last, Robin Le Normand is set to make his way to the club from rivals Real Sociedad.

The name of stopper Le Normand has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines in Spain’s capital across the summer to date.

As much comes after widespread reports confirmed that the 27-year-old had been identified as the leading target to reinforce the depleted central defensive ranks of Diego Simeone’s Atlético Madrid squad.

Negotiations, in turn, had long been under way between the respective boards at the Wanda Metropolitano, and Anoeta.

And, as alluded to above, on Saturday, such discussions have at long last borne fruit.

As per a statement across the website and social media platforms of Atlético Madrid:

‘Atlético de Madrid and Real Sociedad have reached an agreement for the transfer of Robin Le Normand that will be formalized in the coming days, when the player returns from the vacation he is enjoying after becoming champion of the Euro Cup with the Spanish team on the 14th. of July.’
