Paris Saint-Germain showed interest in Dean Huijsen last summer as part of their efforts to strengthen their defense, but the Spanish center-back ultimately joined AFC Bournemouth. If PSG revisit their pursuit, they won’t be alone in the race.

Even with the addition of Willian Pacho, PSG are still likely to target another central defender, especially with Milan Skriniar expected to depart this summer.

As reported by CaughtOffside, several top clubs, including Manchester United, Chelsea, Tottenham, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Barcelona, and PSG, have been keeping a close eye on the 20-year-old.

Since arriving in the Premier League, Huijsen has quickly gained attention, emerging as one of Europe’s most promising young defenders. Should PSG make another attempt to sign him, they’ll face stiff competition and a hefty price tag.

TEAMtalk previously reported that Liverpool are among the most serious suitors, viewing Huijsen as a potential long-term replacement for Virgil van Dijk. Bournemouth have set his release clause at £50 million.

The Gunners are set to compete for the signing of Huijsen, according to The Independent. Arsenal are reportedly the latest club ready to trigger the £50 million release clause to secure the 20-year-old, joining Chelsea and Liverpool in the race.

Newcastle United have reportedly “cooled” their interest after discussions with his representatives, believing he’s leaning toward a move to another club.

James Pearce of The Athletic recently reported that Liverpool currently sees Chelsea as the front-runner for the Spanish standout in a potential summer move. As the transfer window approaches, the situation is likely to develop further.
