Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain are set to face off in the UEFA Champions League semifinal, with just 180 minutes standing between one of them and a spot in the final.

These two have already met earlier in the tournament during the group stage, but one pundit says that the matchup no longer matters.

The Gunners punched their ticket to the semifinals with a 2-1 win over Real Madrid in the second leg of their quarterfinal, sealing a dominant 5-1 aggregate victory.

PSG also entered the second leg with a 5-1 cushion, but things got tense fast. They barely hung on, scraping through as the aggregate finished 5-4.

Ahead of the first-leg clash, Arsenal insider Charlie Watts wrote in his column for CaughtOffside that the matchup between the Gunners and PSG is too close to call. Moreover, he spotlighted two traits that could spell trouble for the Premier League side during the 180 minutes.

“PSG are obviously a very different side now. Ousmane Dembele wasn’t involved that night in October and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has been brought in since that game,” Watts wrote. “The attack has been transformed and they are now such a threat with their pace and movement up front.

“But they were physically dominated in that game at the Emirates, especially in midfield, and that will give Arsenal a lot of confidence as they start to prepare for what will only be the club’s third ever Champions League semifinal.

“I’m not going to say they are favourites, because it’s just too close to call. But Arsenal know they can beat anyone now, home or away, and that is a very good place to be.”
