Arsenal are planning a major summer rebuild. One of the positions they are actively looking to strengthen is the left wing. And that has put Newcastle United’s Anthony Gordon on their radar.

The Gunners are preparing for another big transfer window. After falling short in the Premier League title race yet again, Mikel Arteta wants to reshape his squad. A new striker, a defensive midfielder, and a top-quality winger are on his list.

Newcastle transfer news - Anthony Gordon to Arsenal

According to The Athletic, Anthony Gordon to Arsenal is now one of the stories to watch. Arsenal admire the Newcastle forward and consider him a serious option for their left flank. While Nico Williams remains the top name on their list, Gordon is one of the alternatives being tracked.

David Ornstein reported that a wide attacker has been on Arsenal’s agenda for some time. And while Gordon is just one of several names being considered, the interest is genuine.

Gordon has delivered nine goals and six assists in all competitions this season. Six of those goals and five assists have come in the Premier League. While not as explosive as his previous campaign, the 23-year-old has still shown consistency and energy in a difficult season for Newcastle.

However, any potential deal will be far from simple.

The Anthony Gordon to Arsenal move would require a huge bid. Newcastle are not under pressure to sell, and Gordon only signed a new contract earlier this season. The Magpies view him as a core part of their project under Eddie Howe.

Letting him go now would send the wrong message, especially after the club fought hard to bring him in from Everton just over a year ago. And with the financial pressure easing slightly, Newcastle do not need to cash in on key players unless the offer is too good to turn down.

This will be one of the developing threads in the Newcastle transfer news cycle. Arsenal’s interest is real. But Newcastle’s stance is strong.
