Arsenal are reportedly “advancing” on talks with Noni Madueke over a potential transfer from Chelsea this summer.

Despite the fact the England winger is coming off his most productive campaign, scoring seven goals in 32 Premier League appearances, reports emerged last month that the Blues are willing to listen to offers for the player.

It’s been suggested that Chelsea feel his development has stalled, while the impending arrival of Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund means he faces increased competition in his position next season.

Arsenal ‘advancing’ on transfer talks with Chelsea’s Madueke

Arsenal have seemingly firmed up their interest in Madueke as they have begun discussing personal terms with the 23-year-old, according to Fabrizio Romano.

It is claimed that Madueke is “open” to joining the Gunners, although he “hasn’t asked” to leave Chelsea while he focuses on the FIFA Club World Cup. He came off the bench during Saturday’s 2-1 win over Palmeiras to send the club through to the semi-finals of the tournament.

Romano added that nothing is “close” to being agreed between the two Premier League sides at this stage.

It will be interesting to see how Madueke fits into Mikel Arteta’s plans as the north London outfit already possess two right wingers in Bukayo Saka and Ethan Nwaneri, although the Chelsea man can play on the left.

Madueke, who spent time at both Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace’s academies, joined Chelsea from PSV Eindhoven for a £28.5 million transfer fee in January 2023. He has since gone on to score 20 goals in 93 appearances in all competitions and helped the team win the UEFA Conference League last season. He has been capped seven times for the England national team.
