Arsenal are reported to have agreed personal terms with Chelsea winger Noni Madueke.
The Athletic say the Gunners are now considering making an approach to Chelsea for the England international, who featured for the Blues in their latest Club World Cup win over Palmeiras.
But Madueke is said to have given the go ahead to make the move happen, though there has been no talks between the clubs yet.
The 23-year-old played 32 times in the Premier League for Chelsea last season, scoring seven goals and setting up four.
Chelsea have just completed the signing of winger Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund in a deal worth £51.5m, with the 20-year-old signing a seven-year deal with the Blues.
Gittens was with his new team during their Club World Cup win over Palmeiras, saying after officially joining: “I can’t wait to learn from everyone in the team and to push myself to the max here. It’s an amazing feeling.”
Elsewhere, Burnley have signed England international Kyle Walker from Manchester City on a permanent deal worth a reported £5m.
The 35-year-old has signed a two-year deal at Turf Moor, who won promotion from the Championship last season.
Walker spent the second half of last season on loan at AC Milan and has now brought to and end his eight-year stay at City,
Manchester rivals United, meanwhile, have signed teenager Diego Leon from Paraguayan club Cerro Porteno for £7m, having agreed a deal to sign the defender in January.
Talksport say Tottenham are among the clubs showing interest in 23-year-old Genoa centre-back Koni de Winter.
The Times say Newcastle have made Atalanta centre-back Giorgio Scalvini a priority this summer, while they have also had a £55m bid for Nottingham Forest winger Anthony Elanga accepted.
Forest have, however, completed the signing of striker Igor Jesus from Botafogo.
And Brighton have confirmed the signing of left-back Maxim De Cuyper from Club Brugge.
