West Ham United have had a disastrous Premier League campaign and desperately need to improve their squad this summer.
According to ExWHUEmployee, West Ham have set their sights on Burnley goalkeeper James Trafford.
The Hammers already have Alphonse Areola, Lucasz Fabianski and Wes Foderingham on their books, but they want to sign an upgrade.
The Premier League outfit admire the 22-year-old and could make a ‘serious push’ to sign him in the summer transfer window.
Burnley have conceded only 12 goals in 40 league matches this term on the back of Trafford’s stellar displays.
Trafford has earned rave reviews for his performances in the Championship this season, but a move may depend on whether Burnley win promotion.
The Clarets could decide to keep him if they beat Leeds United or Sheffield United to an automatic promotion spot.
However, West Ham could secure a transfer for the talented keeper if his team fails to climb into the Premier League.
Newcastle United have also been touted as a potential destination for Trafford this summer.
A move to the Magpies may be more appealing as they can offer European football.
