Cristian Chivu is on the verge of being announced as the new head coach of Inter after terminating his contract with Parma and saying goodbye to the Crociati supporters in a video posted on social media on Monday morning.
Chivu is expected to be announced as the new Inter head coach following the departure of Simone Inzaghi for Al-Hilal last week.
The 44-year-old former Nerazzurri defender has already terminated his contract according to reports from TMW, and has now posted a farewell message to the Parma supporters ahead of his imminent Inter announcement.
“I want to thank the club, staff, players and fans for believing in me and our project,” Chivu wrote in a message on Instagram on Monday.
“We overcame obstacles together and wrote a page that I will always carry close to my heart. Thank you, Parma!”

Chivu was appointed Parma head coach in February and helped guide the team to Serie A safety in the final week of the 2024-25 season.
He is expected to be announced as the new head coach of Inter in the imminent future, and is expected to sign a two-year contract in San Siro.
Parma have since officially confirmed the coach’s departure as head coach in a message on social media that read: “The club bids farewell to Cristian Chivu, thanking him for his dedication and for leading the team to safety. His contribution during a challenging period of the season was significant.
“We wish him all the best in the next chapter of his career.”
