In a recent report, journalist Pete O’Rourke stated that Tottenham Hotspur are ready to move in for Kyle Walker-Peters this summer. It is believed that Spurs are open to offering the English full-back a contract as they look to bolster their defence this off-season.
Walker-Peters enjoyed a decent campaign at Southampton after he put in a series of impressive displays on the right side of their defence. The English talent was involved in 35 matches for the Saints last season, securing a couple of assists across all fronts.
The 28-year-old performed his defensive duties well as he made 44 tackles, 27 blocks and 19 interceptions in the Premier League. He was even accurate when distributing possession from the right flank based on his pass completion rate of 88.2% in the English top tier (stats via fbref.com).
Walker-Peters is currently a free agent which makes him a budget choice for Spurs to pursue this summer.

Walker-Peters is a solid tackler of the ball and can time his challenges well to earn the ball back for his team inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when needed and can even create the odd chance for his teammates to find the back of the net.
The English sensation is primarily a right-back but can also operate as a left-back if asked to do so. He has got a wealth of experience in the Premier League and won’t take much time to adjust to life at the North London club.
We can expect Walker-Peters to add more quality to Tottenham boss Thomas Frank’s defence. He is more than capable of fighting for a regular first-team spot at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next season.
At 28, Walker-Peters is playing in his prime which makes him an excellent option for Spurs to consider this summer. He would even help Tottenham challenge across all fronts in the coming years. With all things considered, Frank would be wise to offer the English talent a contract and give him a chance to reignite his career at the North London club.
